A rail-mounted prism needs a rail. If your action isn't already wearing the right one, that's typically another ~$250 before the prism does a single thing — and it's rail real estate you then can't use for anything else.
Then there's protection. Precision glass and machined aluminum that rides to matches wants a case. Some kits include one; some leave you to source it. Small line item, but it's still your money.
