Spectronight is CEBAR's digital low-light and fusion line, carried by X-Ring Precision. An image tube amplifies whatever light is already there. A digital sensor doesn't depend on it — which is why these published detection ranges hold steady from full moon down to overcast, no-moon dark.
Read down the ladder. The ambient light drops by a factor of ten each row. Tube performance follows it down. The digital figure is CEBAR's published human detection range, and it does not move.
| Condition | Illumination | Image tube | Spectronight digital |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full moon | 0.1 lux | Strong | 1023 yd |
| Quarter moon | 0.01 lux | Good | 1023 yd |
| Starlight | 0.001 lux | Reduced | 1023 yd |
| Dark starlight | 0.0001 lux | Marginal | 1023 yd |
| Overcast, no moon | 0.00001 lux | Needs IR | 1023 yd |
Every model lists all three range figures — detect, recognise and identify. Most listings quote the biggest number and let you assume it means identification.
